MARY'S PLACE


Leaving Mary's Place, you collide with Maisie Watkins, mumbling about stockings. Late for work, she dashes past you into the restaurant.

In front of the restaurant there's a middle-aged man with white hair who looks like he's trying to find someone. Seeing you, he comes over and asks very politely,

"Excuse me, but did you just see a woman run by? Her name's Maisie Watkins. I've been trying to track her down all day."

"Who, Maisie? She just went into this restaurant here, Mary's Place."

"Really! Well, thank you very much, kind stranger. Thank you indeed."

The man takes a pair of surgical gloves out of his coat pocket and slips them on, tugging at the wrists with his teeth to ensure a snug fit. Then with a smart salute to you and a click of his heels, he enters the restaurant.
