INSTRUCTIONS

Believe it or not, I wrote this game in five days, with most of the first
day spent trying to learn the programming language. At the outset I had no
idea what form it would take, and made up the puzzles and concepts along the
way.

To run the game: Because you cannot activate the program by just clicking on
the .exe file, you need to open the "MS-DOS Prompt" program. In Windows 95,
this is located in the "Programs" subfile in your Taskbar (what you get
when you press the "Start" button in the lower left corner of your screen).

Once in MS-DOS mode, change directories until you are at the directory with
the unzipped Cory files. Then all you have to do is type the word "cory" and
you will have started the game.

You'll see the title screen. It will go away after a few seconds, and you
shouldn't touch any keys during this time, otherwise the program will
accept them as commands and you may miss the introduction screen.

Once the title screen disappears, you will be shown the introduction to the
game. Read, and continue. You're now within the game. Type "help". By now,
after reading all the assorted instructions, you should be able to plod
on.

Bugs: There are a few minor bugs, but as far as I know, nothing that would
impede your success. The only major bug is if you try to GET a person. You
shouldn't be able to do this at all, IMO, but for some reason the program
lets you. If you GET someone, they'll disappear from the game completely.
Obviously, since you need to interact with people to win the game, you
should make sure everyone stays where they are. You can also make the game
unwinable if you do something you're not supposed to. If you KILL someone,
and you needed them, you won't be able to win.

Hints: If you're stuck, really stuck, you can email me and I'll help you out.
Good luck, and let me know what you think.
